Reviews
I generally try to be positive about these sorts of situations, but this experience deserves a one star review.
When we dropped our two cats off (Vincent and Ellie), they were nervous but it seemed like everything was clean and that they would be in good hands. That was a mistake.
When we picked them back up two weeks later, there were hairballs in the cat pen, the floors of the cat hotel were covered in food, dried feces, and looked like they hadn’t been swept in multiple days.
We were told that the cost of the stay would be around $300 per cat and that we would get a discount since both cats were staying together, but they neglected to mention that there would be both a “Christmas Peak” charge and a “Peak” charge, totaling $8 per cat per day.
We were also told that if we chose the Gold package on the day we planned to pick them up, we would not be charged a late pickup fee, and yet we were charged a late pickup fee for each cat.
Most egregious of all, one of our cats constantly rubbed his head against the bars of the cage, wearing off the fur and causing him to bleed and scab. We were not informed of this until the day we picked up the cats. This is entirely negligent behavior. If we had known, we could have gotten medication from the vet to help Vincent calm down.
As it stands, both our cats are extremely upset and Vincent has a nasty abrasion on his head that clearly took longer than one day to develop.
This is not acceptable, and I would advise anyone looking for pet care to look elsewhere.
Amanda is the most caring and compassionate groomer that my dog and I have ever met! We've followed her from City Bark Broomfield to City Bark Thornton (when she got promoted to SALON MANAGER) because her precision and her TLC for our pup's nail trims are unmatched! We make sure he goes to see her every other week, and do a daycare package on these days. It's worth mentioning that my dog is a big boy- 115lbs., 4 years old, and a little shy about his nails. Amanda literally has had him laying in her lap (even on the floor) while she's groomed him. She has formed such a bond with him, that even the City Bark staff has taken notice. Lastly, given Amanda is the SALON MANAGER extraordinaire, I have to call out how her menu of offerings are always pampering and priced fairly! Highly recommend her and this gorgeous, friendly facility (for daycare too!).
Have been using City Bark grooming services for our Sheepador Rocky. Liz is our go to dog styling tech here in North Denver and one of the most dedicated, friendly, and talented we've had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you Liz, Rocky has a difficult fur growth and she always has him coming out like he is a show dog! Highly recommend!
Great service from the grooming department!
Amanda and Liz did an absolutely amazing job with both of our puppies!
They gave them both a super fun and creative cut and they look super adorable!
Thank you ladies!
My fur babies, Roxie and Chewy, LOVE when they realize we pull up at City Bark! They get so excited and practically pull me in. I can tell they have fun and get time to themselves when needed. We’ve boarded and used the daycare services.
This place is awesome. We have a not so people friendly pit bull and we are always fearful when he meets new people. Everyone did great and praised him so much! He even allowed a bath😍 …
We just picked up our cats today. This was the first time I’ve ever left my sweet cats in a daycare. I feel badly leaving a one start review since it was Christmas, but here’s the situation, and this is why I’m upset… my tuxedo (as you can see in the photos), has been self harming himself since we left for two weeks, and we had absolutely no idea. ON THE WEBSITE IT SAYS owners will be contacted immediately if there is a sign of harm on the cat so they can ask about medication, and that they can call the vet. Whenever we came to get them today, they said “they just noticed today”. On the progress report for today, the gold package we paid for, it was the saddest photo of him I’ve ever seen with his clearly scabbed head. We payed for extra play time for our other cat, and she didn’t play once because of how scared she was. With the packages etc we asked for we were quoted around $300 per cat, and when it came to pay, we were charged almost $1000. Which is insane. I understand that it was Christmas, but when we looked at the itemized bill, it made no sense. A lot of the extra charge was because of “extra holiday cost”, but they never told us this beforehand in the quote?? I wish we had that on paper, but we don’t. They never warned us that my cat was self harming, didn’t ask for anxiety medication, didn’t call my vet, nothing. Play time that we paid for for my other cat went down the drain, and they even left some of their things in other cages after they allegedly washed them because they forgot it belonged to them. We’re heading back tomorrow to pick up a blanket they didn’t wash in time for pick up. Oh.. and we were charged an extra fee for “late pick up”, even though we paid for gold for both cats today so we could come in late. And we were there barely past noon as it was. We won’t be doing this again. They’re the sweetest cats, living animals, and the least I expected was an update if they were going through that much stress and physical harm.
I called the Broomfield location and went on a tour there but they couldn’t accommodate us, but Thornton was able to take us in last minute.I took my cat Bossko boarding here for 10 days, she is very shy, nervous, needs feliway sprayed on her things, high maintenance if you will. Takes medication a certain way. Doesn’t really like new people or places. But I was very impressed with City Bark Thornton!!! They let me know ahead of time that they were having internet issues. So phones and such were down off and on due to someone working on it. But I got a pic ,report every day except 1. And when I called to make sure she had gotten her medication the first day, David had to get ahold of the lead from the night before, but got back to me in a timely matter. They are very clean. She didn’t come home smelling bad. I took her to 1 place before when I had to leave town, and the tour was good, but the exit was ALL BAD!! Lauren checked me out and she was great and very patient. All the girls that helped with Bossko on our way out were great. They all loved my fur baby just the way I was hoping. They are all very caring people and have the best interest for animals. Thank you City Bark Thornton!! We will be coming back. Her pic is a beginning and end of boarding pic.
